The MidCoast Watersheds Council is
a local non-profit organization dedicated to improving
the health of streams and watersheds in the midcoast area.
We are a local non-profit organization
dedicated to improving the health of streams and watersheds
in the midcoast area. We are governed by a board of directors
and officers. Decisions are made by consensus of the board
of our regular monthly meeting. Committees, such as the
admin committee and the technical team provide oversight
and guidance for decision making.

the MCWC By-Laws.
The MidCoast Watersheds Council is involved
in conducting rapid bio-assessments of coho distribution
in MidCoast Watersheds and estuarine assessments of Yaquina
and Alsea Bay. MCWC maintains a Geographic Information Systems
database and 6th field assessment for MidCoast Watersheds.
Our on-the-ground projects include riparian fencing and
planting, culvert replacement, in-stream log structures,
bank stabilization, and tidelands and estuarine restoration,
as well as site specific monitoring and long-term basin
scale monitoring.
Our community education and outreach programs include a
Stream Scene program for grades 6-12,
monthly
meetings and other activities, a
MidCoast
Watersheds News newsletter, and press releases and other
news.
