Welcome to the MidCoast Watersheds Council
The MidCoast Watersheds Council is a local non-profit
organization dedicated to improving the health of streams and
watersheds of Oregon’s central coast so they produce clean water,
rebuild healthy salmon populations, and support a healthy ecosystem
and economy. The Council works in an area of nearly one million
acres, including all streams draining from the crest of the Coast
Range to the Pacific, from the Salmon River to Cape Creek at Heceta
Head. This area includes the watersheds of the Salmon, Siletz,
Yaquina, Alsea, and Yachats rivers, and more than 28 smaller ocean
tributaries.
The website sections below provide access to
information related to Council related news, meetings, partners,
watershed assessments, projects, and education program. The About Us
section also gives more details about the Council itself and more
detail on the overall program.
About Us - This section includes much

is a robust site dedicated to the young and not so young involvement
in improving and maintaining the health of our streams and
watersheds. Check out the upcoming educational events and volunteer
opportunities.
- The Basin Browser is an interactive
map tool that allows one to look at watersheds and related
information at a variety of scales. One can look at all of the
watersheds in the MidCoast area, individual larger watersheds or
basin scale, or at the smaller watershed or sub-basin scale. At the
smaller scale one can access the 6th scale watershed assessment
reports, or access information on projects relative to the selected
watershed/sub-basin.
- Meeting times and locations for the MidCoast Watersheds Council,
its Tech Team, the Siletz Watershed Council Meeting, and the Yaquina
