Field Watersheds

Description
We obtained the 5th field watershed layer from the MCWC
CD-ROM. There are 23- 5th Field hydrologic unit codes
(HUCs) in the study area covering 375,337.4 ha or 1,449.2
sq. mi. Four of the HUCs were assigned to areas that cover
estuaries (Alsea Bay -1, Alsea Bay-2, Yaquina, and Siletz)
and are not included in our summarization.
Fifth field HUC were grouped into six sections for the
pupose of our report. The sections are Yachats (11,230.6
ha), Salmon (19,320.3 ha), Ocean Tributaries (62,526.4
ha), Yaquina (64,891.8 ha), Siletz (95, 465.4 ha) and
Alsea (121,902.9 ha).
Uses
We used 5th field watersheds to create
summaries.
Notes
Most of the 5th field fall in the 10,000
to 20,000 ha size range.
