We obtained the 1:100,000 streams layer
from the MCWC CD-ROM and we are providing this summary for
comparison with the other available streams layers,
1:24,000
USGS Streams, USFS Densified Streams, and DEM-Derived
Streams.
This layer contains 3,016.9 km of streams for the study
area. Using this figure and the area of the MCWC study
region, the stream density of the area is 0.008 km stream
per hectare or 1.29 miles of stream per square mile.
This layer is provided for comparison.
Data scale is very important when calculating
some statistics such as stream density.
