AHI Percent Surveyed

Description
We analyzed absolute length of aquatic habitat survey data, but we also were interested in the relative proportion of the stream network surveyed. Since the total length of the stream network varies from one 6th field to the next, the proportion of a 6th field's stream network surveyed may be useful in interpreting numeric averages and lengths of reaches with desirable conditions.

We calculated the percentage of the length of 1:100k streams layer that was surveyed in each 6th field. Values ranged from 0 to 421% with a mean of 56%. Some 6th fields show a total survey extent of more than 100% of the length of the 100k streams layer. This is to be expected, because many surveyed streams are not shown on the 100k streams layer, so the sum of surveyed lengths can add up to more than the length of the 100k streams layer.
